This area is a proposed housing estate. It also happens to contain an Aboriginal ceremonial site which is at least four times older than the Pyramids.

Allotments on this site are currently owned by people associated with Townshend Homes. We are asking people to boycott both Townshend Homes and the development company - Queensland based B.M.D. Constructions Pty Ltd. B.M.D. Constructions Pty Ltd are part owners of the so-called Canterbury Hills Pty Ltd, a company listed along with Fendall Farms Pty Ltd as being developers of the Bundanoon Park Estate. Hume City Council is also pushing ahead with development plans for the area and is locked into an agreement which was initially signed by the Shire of Bulla and North Sunbury Development Pty Ltd - a company run by Vernon Thomas Eugene Townshend (see below) - in March 1982 to develop the land.
Developers are proposing that houses be built within metres from a Aboriginal Earthern Ring, used by the Wurundjeri people for thousands of year. The site is rich in Wurundjeri cultural history and it is totally inappropriate to deface an area which Aboriginal people have used for countless generations. We regard their development proposals as little more than ecocide/genocide. The land in question lies in the Jackson Creek catchment and is severely eroded. Who would want to build a house on land that is eroding away?
The land containing the Aboriginal ring is currently owned by Canterbury Hills Pty Ltd. Most of the surrounding land earmarked for development is owned by Fendall Farms Pty Ltd.
